Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming a formidable method for creating adaptive and self-sufficient cybersecurity systems that can perpetually oversee digital landscapes, evaluate security incidents, deduce possible threats, and facilitate suitable defensive measures. In contrast to traditional machine-learning security solutions that typically execute detection tasks in isolation, agentic AI systems are capable of synchronising several functions including threat detection, investigation, risk evaluation, incident prioritisation, and response. This chapter explores the utilisation of agentic AI in intrusion detection, malware and anomaly identification, network security surveillance, identity safeguarding, and automated incident assessment. Multi-agent frameworks are examined for the orchestration of specialised security agents across endpoints, networks, cloud infrastructures, applications, and security operations centers. The section additionally tackles significant issues pertaining to explainability, privacy, adversarial resilience, false positives, cybersecurity governance, and human supervision. Ultimately, the discourse encompasses assessment metrics, implementation obstacles, and nascent research trajectories. The section underscores that independent cybersecurity agents must function within well-established protective limits while preserving human oversight on critical security choices.
